Defining the Region:
The Northern Vice Chair Region of the Progressive Caucus represents the area in red on the map to the right. Regional Vice Chairs represent their districts on a variety of progressive issues that are important to the their districts.
Vice Chairs assist the Chair in carrying out the chair’s duties, and serve as Senior Representatives for their regions, responsible for overseeing and organizing their regions through communication, outreach, education, and advocating for issues, projects, and campaigns promoted by the Progressive Caucus.
Vice Chairs are also required to report at least once a month to the board and to regional members.
David Hildebrand of Sacramento, California is the current Northern Vice Chair.
Recently, the Progressive Caucus Membership voted to split the Northern Vice Chair Region into two regions, giving the Bay Area their own regional chair, and focusing the Northern Vice Chair Region on rural Northern California.
