Defining the Position:
The Northern Vice Chair of the Progressive Caucus represents the area in red on the map to the right. While the election is statewide, Vice Chairs represent their districts on a variety of progressive issues that are important to the Progressive Caucus.
Naturally, there are other vice chairs for other regions of the state, but there is always room to increase representation by increasing the number of Vice Chairs on the Progressive Caucus, and casting the vote by-district, instead of at-large.
Vice Chairs assist the Chair in carrying out the chair’s duties, and serve as Senior Representatives for their regions, responsible for overseeing and organizing their regions through communication, outreach, education, and advocating for issues, projects, and campaigns promoted by the Progressive Caucus.
Vice Chairs are also required to report at least once a month to the board and to regional members.
Northern California needs more representation!
David Hildebrand plans to travel to the distant corners of the north state to meet with various Democratic Clubs and organizations to ensure that we are ready to organize to promote issues that matter to Progressive Democrats, specifically those who reside in Northern California.
